Origin Hotel

Set in Berkley Riverfront, Origin Hotel is a 5-story boutique hotel with 118 rooms. It will open in October 2024 and offer private dining and conference space options. The hotel will also have a full-service restaurant, a bike library, a fitness center, and a signature fountain to pay homage to Kansas City’s fountains. The mixed-use 5-story development is across the street from the Union Apartments and is near the CPKC Stadium.  

Origins Hotels is a new hotel and hospitality brand growing its brand in multiple US markets. Each individual hotel is designed around its location. Origins is about creating destination experiences for visitors who also care about health, vitality, lifestyle, and culture. They chose the Riverfront because of its proximity to a park, an active lifestyle, and the potential for easy travel/access to the local hotspots and attractions.   

Port KC issued the developer, The Thrash Group, $6.8 million in tax exemptions over 20 years. The hotel is expected to create 70-75 full-time jobs.
